Teachers have dreams too

In speaking with teachers I discovered they have some decent dreams too.

They dream that school administrators will leave the teachers alone to teach.

School districts will cut a large portion of top administrators and leave the working people alone.

That one day one-third of their paycheck will not go to health insurance.

That one day parents will be responsible for their children.

That one day children will be taught manners.

That adults will be able to maneuver in society, and refrain from acting as if they, the adults belong in daycare.

Teachers dream that social security (some form of retirement) will be around when they need it.

Teachers dream that parents of deaf children would learn sign language.

One dreams that we do away with money and exchange goods for services.

Everyone will live out their passions, and do what they're meant to do in life.

Some dream of a day when principals will believe what the teachers say and not the student.

Teachers dream of being real with the kids and driving home the notion that there are serious consequences for their (children's) actions.

That people will say what they mean and mean what they say.

That little girls will refrain from calling other little girls bitches.
