Nancy (stretch) Pelosi recently stated that the Democrats (dim-uk'-rats) have always had a strong commitment toward deficit reduction. Problem is since they took over in 2006 the deficit has increased by $5.4 trillion. Point of info: all spending measures originate in the House of Representatives.
