Protected class of criminal

On the television I heard that a law enforcement officer had commented on Arizona's immigration enforcement. The proponents of illegal immigration argue that asking a person for identification is akin to the Holocaust. Mexico requires that all foreign persons carry a passport on their person at all times. When a citizen is stopped for speeding, talking on a cell phone, red light violation, or any other offense they are asked to show identification. The identification is usually in the form of a driver's license and registration. Proponents of illegal immigration argue it is a violation of human rights to ask an illegal for identification. The officer inquired as to whether we are creating a protected class of criminal when we cannot ask an illegal alien for identification. I believe that we clearly are.
