Surely this is a complex question with no simple answer. One person told me it is to love and be loved. No doubt that is one component. I believe marriage and children is one of the main purposes of life in that the species through this effort is continued. To have children and raise them to be respectable, productive members of society is at minimal one of the greatest rewards/purposes in life. People that never have children surely contribute in other ways. They can lead productive lives and contribute to the overall well being of man kind. Life is a precious gift from GOD. It carries with it a responsibility to live the best most enjoyable life possible. Of paramount importance it that individuals strive to live their lives as much as is humanly possible in accordance with the will of GOD.
